Tasting Note

A superb example of the Ripasso style. This uses the leftover skins from their Amarone and uses it to referment a young, fresh Valpolicella. The result is intense flavour with hints of mature cherry, blackberry and sweet spices. Harmonious, fresh, full-flavoured and dry on the palate with notes of violet, dried prune, vanilla, black tea and a typical aftertaste of morello cherry.

It will pair well with game, grilled meat, oven-baked lamb and strong cheese.

Ca dei Maghi is a small farm in the hills of Valpolicella making very small quantities of the most exquisite wines. Although started in the 1950’s it is only since 2011 when Paolo Creazzi took over the reins that this estate has gone from being ‘good’ to outstanding. Each year he seeks to express classical Valpolicella at its very best while hisinclination to experiment and try new things is shown in the small range of IGT wines produced.
